How to reach Zante island

Airplane

Zakynthos is very easily reachable from Athens with daily flights of 45 minutes.
The airline companies that cover this route are the Olympic Air (www.olympicair.com) and the Aegean Airlines (http://en.aegeanair.com). On their websites there are timetables and costs.

Further more during the summer period Zakynthos is directly connected to many European cities with charter flights.
From England there are direct flights leaving from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and others city.

There are also flights connecting Zakynthos to Kefalonia, Corfu, Preveza (Lefkada) and Kitira with Skyexpress (www.skyexpress.gr).

Zakynthos’ airport “Solomos” is 3 km from the city and it is reachable by taxi or private means of transportation.

Ferry-boat

From Italy, with departures from the harbours of Venice, Trieste, Ancona, Bari andBrindisi, you can reach Patras by ferryboat. Some of the shipping companies that cover this route are Minoan, Red Star Ferries, Anek, Superfast, Grimaldi, Ventouris.
From Patras proceed for 60 km along the New National Road via Pyrghos to the coast town of Killini.
From Killini there are ferry boats leaving to Zakynthos and the the trip duration is about 1 hour and a half.

There are three companies for the route Killini – Zakynthos:

Zante – Kefalonia

Zakynthos is connected to Kefalonia by ferry-boat too; the cross is about 1 hour from A. Nikolaos port in the north of Zante to Pesada, in the south of Kefalonia island.

Bus

There are daily trips from Zakynthos to Athens (5 hours), Patras (2 hours) and Salonika(9 hours) by bus with the company KTEL.

The prices below do not include the ferry-boat Killini-Zakynthos and the children under 10 years have a reduced price.

DOMESTIC RUNS

There are buses every day that connect the chief town of Zakynthos to the following resorts and viceversa:
– Tsilivi (10 runs per day)
– Laganas (14 runs per day)
– Argasi (11 runs per day)
– Kalamaki (14 runs per day)
– Alykes (5 runs per day)
– Vassilikos (4 runs per day)
– Limni Keri (3 runs per day)
– Volimes (1 run per day).

The number of runs is approximate and the price of one-way ticketis between 1,60 and 3,40 Euros according to the destination.
